The Advanced Apprenticeship Programme (TAAP) has been running since 2013 to allow us to fill entry level office based positions with young talent. The programme is designed to give young people a chance to learn, grow, and achieve their professional goals in a demanding working environment. Some of our own senior staff have developed their careers up from apprenticeships so TAAP also solves our business need by allowing us to nurture Lakehouse’s future leaders and thinkers.
We wanted to celebrate and recognise the hard work, individual successes, and exceptional achievement of our current crop of TAAP apprentices. We also wanted to extend our gratitude to them for going over and above our expectations, so we held our inaugural TAAP Awards event. The presentation was held at head office during National Apprenticeship Week which is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and traineeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
This year’s categories were:
- Apprentice of the Year Award
- Outstanding Achievement Award
- Best Selfie Award
Congratulations to Amy Packer for winning the Apprentice of the Year Award. Amy is often highly pressured working to tight deadlines and she plays a critical part of winning new work for the organisation. Amy has also shown extra commitment and a selfless attitude in training others whilst still in training herself. Described as the “backbone of the Bid Team,” Amy’s calm and confident demeanour is invaluable. These distinctive skills and traits portray huge potential in Amy’s future.
Our judges were unable to pick a single winner for the Outstanding Achievement Award as our apprentices have all had great achievements over the past year. Congratulations to our two winners Danny Anderson and Lily Bosworth. Danny Anderson was chosen for his exceptional community work volunteering at schools. Danny is always willing to learn and has consistently shown strong communication skills that have helped form strong relationships. Lily Bosworth was chosen for her resolve and positive impact within her team. Lily is passionate towards her work and is always willing to help others.
The Best Selfie Award was judged by a public vote in our staff e-magazine. Congratulations to Lewis McKenna for his award winning selfie!
We also presented awards for the successful completion of apprenticeships. We are proud of our apprentices for finishing the programme and achieving recognised role specific qualifications. We are delighted to be able to continue working with them and offer them all full time employment at Lakehouse. Well done to:
- Aaron Shead
- Amy Packer
- Danny Anderson
